Jalebi Jibe! BJP Sends Sweets To Congress MP Rahul Gandhi To Celebrate Haryana Victory
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is celebrating its recent triumph in Haryana. The BJP's Haryana division took the opportunity to tease the Congress, who were confident of winning and had planned to celebrate with jalebis. In a playful gesture, the BJP sent a kilogram of this sweet treat to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi at his Delhi office.
During a rally in Gohana on October 3, Rahul Gandhi showcased a box of jalebis from Matu Ram 'halwai'. He suggested that these sweets should be sold nationwide and even exported. He argued that this could create jobs while criticising the Centre and BJP for their business strategies.

BJP Leaders Join in on the Jalebi Fun
UP Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta expressed his delight over the election results. He remarked that Haryana's people have "put a lock on the Congress factory of lies, rumours and empty promises!" Gupta added that voters have once again shown that "Modi hai toh Mumkin Hai!"
Sidharth Nath Singh, BJP leader and Prayagraj (West) MLA, also joined in the fun. He stated, "After seeing the Haryana election results, I will send Prayagraj's jalebi to Rahul Gandhi". This reflects the party's enthusiasm following their electoral success.
The BJP shared their gesture on X, stating, "On behalf of all the workers of Bhartiya Janta Party (in) Haryana, jalebis have been sent to Rahul Gandhi's home." They attached a screenshot from a food delivery app confirming an order from a Delhi-based sweets shop to 24 Akbar Road - Congress' HQ.
Gupta further commented on X in Hindi, saying that today even jalebi might taste bitter to Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders. He noted that the public has sweetened BJP's mouth by granting them victory.
This playful exchange highlights the ongoing rivalry between India's major political parties. It underscores how election outcomes can influence political narratives and interactions among leaders.
