Jaismine Lamboria Wins World Boxing Championship, Becomes Ninth Indian Champion

Indian boxer Jaismine Lamboria scripted history on Saturday night (September 13, 2025), capturing the featherweight gold medal at the World Championships. She sealed the title with a brilliant performance against Paris Olympics silver medallist Julia Szeremeta of Poland, defeating her 4-1 in a high-voltage final.

Jaismine, competing in the 57kg category, displayed complete dominance throughout the tournament. In the final, she outclassed Szeremeta with sharp precision and relentless energy. The judges' scorecards reflected her superiority, reading 30-27, 29-28, 30-27, 28-29, and 29-28 in her favour.

This triumph makes Jaismine the ninth Indian boxer to be crowned world champion, adding her name to an elite list of the country's boxing legends.
