Jaisalmer: Rajnath Singh chairs meeting with BSF officials, assesses border security

New Delhi, Oct 7: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday met top BSF officials in Jaisalmer in the wake of mounting tension between India and pakistan after Indian Army launched surgical strikes at the terrorist launch pads across the LoC on September 29.

Singh chaired meeting with top BSF officials of four states, whose boundaries touch with Pakistan. Pakistan has made as many as 23 ceasefire violations since Indian Army launched surgical strikes in reply of uri attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rajnath Singh assesses border security

Earlier, Home Minister made a tweet regarding his meeting to take stock of security situation in border areas.

"Leaving for Jaisalmer on a two-day visit to Rajasthan. Shall visit forward areas near the international border and interact with BSF jawans," Singh said in a tweet.

It is being said that reviewing the security situation would be Singh's main concern as his visit comes amidst relentless ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army in Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control.
