According to the FIR filed by retired IAS officer Ramdhan Lal Meena, the incident took place on January 10 while he was returning home from SMS hospital in Jaipur, heading towards Kanota on the city's outskirts.

Meena claimed he had purchased a ticket for Kanota but had fallen asleep.

Upon waking up as the bus passed Kanota, Meena asked conductor Ghanshyam Sharma to stop the bus, but Sharma refused. In the video, other passengers can be heard urging Meena to pay the extra Rs 10 that the conductor demanded. Meena responds, "Arey 100, 200, 10 rupee nahi, ek paisa nahi dunga, galat laaye mere ko (I won't give a single penny, they have brought me to the wrong destination)."

As the argument escalates, Sharma is allegedly seen pushing Meena, who then slaps him in retaliation. After a brief altercation, the conductor is said to have begun beating Meena, who is eventually seen getting off the bus.

An FIR was lodged at the Kanota police station on the evening of January 11 under various sections, including voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful restraint, and criminal intimidation.

Jaipur City Transport Services Limited suspended Sharma on Sunday while an inquiry is conducted.
