Jailed Gangster Mukhtar Ansari's Health Deteriorates, Admitted To Hospital

According to the reports, gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who was in Banda's jail, has been admitted to a hospital after his health condition deteriorated on Tuesday. The reports said Ansari's condition is critical and he is in Rani Durgavati Medical College and Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Following death threats and danger to Mukhtar Ansari ahead of the elections, Banda Police has turned the Medical College zone into a cantonment with heavy deployment of police force.

However, high-level administration staff, police, and jail administration are maintaining silence on the matter.

According to the sources, Mukhtar Ansari had been suffering from a urinary infection for three days, and today at around 1 am, on-duty officials found that Mukhtar's condition was getting out of control so he was immediately shifted to the hospital.

As per the latest information, doctors have recommended surgery, after which Mukhtar Ansari was shifted to the ICU for surgery. However, his condition is said to be stable for now.

Earlier this week, the state government suspended a jailer and two deputy jailers for neglecting the security arrangements of high profile leader, Mukhtar Ansari. Earlier, Mukhtar Ansari had informed the court, in his virtual appearance, that the jail administration is purportedly giving slow poison to him.

Mukhtar Ansari's brother Afzal Ansari and his family have also been allowed to meet him at the Banda Hospital, who will reach the hospital around 2 pm today.

Mukhtar Ansari was sentenced to life imprisonment in the 36-year-old Ghazipur fake-arms license case.
