J&K: Terrorists fire at joint team of Army, police

A joint party of the police and the Army was fired upon by the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Thursday evening, said reports.

The joint party was returning from cordon and search operation when they were fired at in Materbugh area.

Earlier on Thursday, an infiltration bid was foiled and three terrorists were killed by the Indian Army. The incident took place at the Gurez sector in Kashmir. The Army said that search operations are still on.

On Wednesday, the security agencies have launched a cordon operation in the Mattan area of Anantnag. The operation was launched after intelligence reports suggested the presence of two or more terrorists in the area.
