J&K Showdown: Drone Footage Unveils Intense Battle as Three Terrorists Are Neutralised in Baramulla
Drone Footage Reveals Intense Battle in Baramulla
On Saturday, a dramatic drone footage emerged showing a terrorist emerging from a building and engaging in a fierce firefight with security forces in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir. The footage captures the moment the terrorist, armed with an assault rifle, is pursued by security personnel before being neutralised. This incident was part of a broader operation where three hardcore terrorists were killed following an overnight gunbattle in the region.

Successful Operation in Chak Tapper Kreeri
The operation, carried out in Chak Tapper Kreeri, has been described as a "significant success" by Brigadier Sanjay Kannoth of the Army's 10 Sector Rashtriya Rifles. During the operation, security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from the terrorists. The intense confrontation involved a professional and methodical approach by the forces, ensuring no collateral damage to civilians or property, according to Brigadier Kannoth.
The drone footage shows one of the terrorists fleeing towards a grove of trees near the compound wall, eventually falling and crawling a short distance before being subdued. The footage highlights the chaotic nature of the battle, with bullets striking the concrete walls and raising a cloud of dust.
Additional Losses in Kupwara
In a separate engagement in Kupwara, two army soldiers were tragically killed in action. This incident underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region amidst heightened tensions.
Brigadier Kannoth noted that the operation in Baramulla was triggered by specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. "Our columns were fired upon by the terrorists hiding in an old building. As per standard operating procedures, we returned fire," he explained. The operation continued into the morning, with the forces effectively neutralising the threat while adhering to protocols to minimise harm to civilians.
Upcoming Elections Amidst Rising Tensions
The operation comes at a critical time, as Jammu and Kashmir prepares for its assembly elections, scheduled to begin on September 18. The recent successes by security forces and the continuing violence highlight the challenging environment in which the elections will take place. The region remains a focal point of security operations as authorities work to ensure a safe and secure electoral process.
