J&K: Govt ready to talk to anyone who is willing, says Jaitley

Asserting that the government is ready to talk to anyone who is willing, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday said that the stone pelting in Kashmir has stopped because the "funding sources of Hurriyat have dried up".

Speaking to news agency ANI, Jaitley said that an intelligence network has been put in place in the last three years abd Hurriyat's funding souces have been exposed.

"Terrorists are on the run, situation under control. Home Minister has cleared that we are ready to talk to anyone who is willing..Funding sources of Hurriyat have dried up and as a result the stone pelting that was being done by thousands, has stopped," he said.

Former Intelligence Bureau director, Dineshwar Sharma said was on Monday appointed as the representative for a sustained dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir. Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said Sharma will be Government of India's representative and his rank will be equivalent to that of a Cabinet Secretary.

The Congress on Tuesday asked the goverment to state in clear terms who the stakeholders are in the Kashmir issue.

When asked if the Hurriyat would be involved in the talks, Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said, "What has to be done and how, will be his (Dineshwar Sharma) decision."
