J&K: Three terrorists killed during encounter with security forces in Pulwama

Three terrorists were killed and one security personnel lost his life in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Pulwama district's Aglar Kandi in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

A civilian suffered injuries in the crossfire, a police spokesman said. Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Kandi belt of Aglar area in Pulwama district in south Kashmir following information about the presence of some militants, the spokesman said.

Police also recovered two AK-47 and one pistol from the three killed terrorists. The killed terrorists were also involved in yesterday's attack on police party in which a policeman had lost his life.

According to police, the search operation led to a gunbattle after the militants fired towards the security forces' positions. "The exchange of fire between the two sides is going on but there are no casualties reported far," a police official said.

Earlier on Saturday, two cops were injured after militants fired on a police team in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. The injured policemen were taken to a hospital where their condition was declared to be stable. The injured cops were identified as Abdul Salam and Munir Ahmad.
