J&K CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed shifted to ICU, on oxygen therapy
79-year-old Sayeed was admitted in the private ward of the premier medical institute on Dec 24, after he complained of uneasiness at his residence in Srinagar.
He was flown to Delhi in a state aircraft. His condition is being closely monitored by a team of experts at AIIMS since then.
The experts in an statement today said, "Sayeed, who is admitted in AB 8 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since December 24, is sick, requiring oxygen therapy but hemodynamically stable."
"He is conscious, alert and is taking orally. He continues to be on antibiotics, antifungal drugs and supportive therapy and is being closely monitored by a team of experts," the statement issued by the hospital further added.
He was admitted with chief complaint of fever in the private ward on Dec 24. He is being looked after by a team of doctors from the departments of Endocrinology and Medicine.
The team of experts monitoring Sayeed's condition comprise Dr Rita Sood (Professor of Medicines), Prof Mohammad Ashraf Ganaie (Endocrinologist), Dr Tulika Seth (Hematology) and Prof PN Dogra (Urology), among others.
His daughter and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had accompanied him to Delhi.
He had taken over as Chief Minister of a PDP-BJP alliance government in March this year.
