Infiltration bid foiled: Indian Army guns down 5 terrorists

The troops noticed suspicious movement along the Line of Control and challenged the intruders.

Security forces foiled an infiltration bid in Machil Sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Five terrorists were killed in the operation.

The troops noticed suspicious movement along the Line of Control and challenged the intruders. "An infiltration bid was foiled in Machil sector. Five terrorist have been killed," a Defence spokesman has said. He said the operation is in progress.

Security forces have recovered weapons from the scene. The identity and affiliation of the terrorists is being determined.

Meanwhile, Pakistan violated Ceasefire in Baramulla's Silikoot injuring one Army jawan.

In the morning, Indian Army gunned down one terrorist in an encounter in Samboora area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistani terrorist was identified as Umer of Abu Ismail group.

On July 23, another infiltration attempt was foiled by the Army in the very same area.
