J&K: 2 terrorists killed in gunfight with security forces in Kupwara

Srinagar, Aug 2: Two terrorists were killed in a fresh exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

The encounter began after the militants opened fire on the security forces' personnel on patrol duty in Lolab valley, they said. The militants were yet to be identified.

"Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with J&K Police/SF (security forces) in Lolab Kupwara few minutes back," Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police S P Vaid said on Twitter.

The exchange of fire comes two days after terrorists hurled a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party at Sherbagh in Anantnag district. Three CRPF personnel had sustained injuries in the attack launched by the terrorists.
