ISKCON Priest Beaten Up In Maharashtra For Allegedly Sending Lewd Messages To Woman | WATCH

An ISKCON priest, identified as Suddhdas Sewa, was brutally assaulted in Maharashtra's Palghar district following allegations of inappropriate behaviour and sending obscene messages to a woman.

The priest was attacked at the ISKCON temple in Vasai on Friday, December 13, by the woman's family, who also worked at the temple.

The woman accused the priest of sending lewd messages to her. In retaliation, her family took matters into their own hands, resulting in a violent confrontation.

Footage of the chaotic scene that circulated on social media shows the woman's family, accompanied by some women, vandalising a hall where the priest was present, slapping, punching him, and beating him with slippers.

Other individuals associated with the priest were also assaulted during the incident, and they are seen pleading for forgiveness with folded hands.

According to reports, following the altercation, the priest was handed over to the police by the family.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion, with many condemning the violent reaction, while others are calling for accountability regarding the priest's alleged misconduct. Critics have raised concerns about how grievances are handled within institutions.
