ISIS recruit got Rs 80,000 scholarship from Zakir Naik's NGO

The NIA which has been probing Naik's NGO has conducted raids in 20 different places. An NIA official informed that they are scrutinising the documents, CDs and other material.

Mumbai, Nov 22 The probe being conducted by the National Investigation Agency has revealed that Abu Anas a suspect in the ISIS case had received a scholarship from the banned Islamic Research Foundation run by Dr Zakir Naik.

Anas who came under the investigation agencies for his alleged ISIS related activities had got the scholarship from the ISIS in October 2015. Anas was arrested in January this year while he was trying to join the ISIS in Syria.

The NIA which has been probing Naik's NGO has conducted raids in 20 different places. An NIA official informed that they are scrutinising the documents, CDs and other material.

It has been revealed IRF had close links with Harmony Media Pvt Ltd, Longlast Constructions Pvt Ltd, Right Property Solutions pvt Ltd, Majestic Perfumes Pvt Ltd and Alpha Lubricants Pvt Ltd. The inflow and outflow of cash is under probe currently, the NIA officer also informed.
