ISIS link: Hyderabad cops to probe 20 probable recruits
Hyderabad, Sept 25: The Hyderabad Police will look into a list of 20 names provided by Afsha Jabeen, the lady who was allegedly recruiting for the ISIS. The probe has revealed that she was acting suo motu and was not in touch with any of ISIS leaders.
However during the probe, she has given the list of 20 persons who had contacted her seeking her assistance to join the ISIS. The police say that they are looking into the list of names and not all are from India.

Afsha Jabeen alias Nicky Joseph was recently deported to Hyderabad from UAE after it was found that she was running a campaign which favoured the ISIS.
Among the list of names there are four from Hyderabad who are being questioned. Afsha has revealed during the probe that she was running social media accounts which debated subjects such as Islam vs Christianity.
She however made it clear that she had no role in any direct recruitments and neither was she in touch with any of the leaders of the ISIS.
She however stated that she got repeated queries on the internet asking her for details on how to join the ISIS. The police say that there are several sites where information is available and Afsha may have directed them there.
Among the list of persons who have tried to contact her there are others from other parts of the country. We will provide the list of persons to respective states so that they could be investigated.
Inter-state probe needed
The Hyderabad police will also seek the assistance of other states where they suspect Afsha may have contacted some youth or vice versa. It would help us with our investigation to get a larger picture of her activities on the internet, the officer also added.
The police say that the are on the lookout for more information relating to her activities. Afsha's name had first cropped up when one youth Salman Mohiudeen had revealed her name. He said that he wanted to join the ISIS and she was trying to help him.
He had planned on meeting her in Dubai getting married and then leaving for Syria. However Afsha did not agree to the marriage. The police say that they are likely to bring Salman and Afsha face to face for questioning soon.
