ISIS crackdown: Improvised explosive devices found in Hyderabad, Mumbai
Hyderabad/Mumbai, Jan 22: The National Investigating Agency which carried out a nation wide operation to nab ISIS sympathisers has booked 5 persons under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. While the NIA has officially arrested five persons, the remaining nine have been detained and are being questioned.
During the search operations that were conducted in Mumbai and Hyderabad, the NIA officials had found improvised explosive devices. Further search operations are on, officials say.

The NIA says that this is an ongoing operation and they are still questioning 9 persons who have been detained.
The total number of persons picked up today was 14, but the NIA has officially arrested only 5 of them. Two from Karnataka, one from Mumbai and two from Hyderabad have been shown as arrested.
The NIA suspects that these persons were planning on carrying out an attack ahead of the Republic Day celebrations. The NIA is still ascertaining if these persons were inter-connected or were working individually.
Further investigations by the NIA will continue. Search operations too will continue depending the leads that the NIA gets during the investigation.
