Isha Foundation Faces Criticism For Selling Sadhguru's Feet For Rs 3,200

Amid the growing controversy surrounding Sadhguru's Isha Foundation, images of his feet being sold online have sparked a divide on the internet. A framed photograph of Sadhguru's feet is available for Rs 3,200 on the ishalife.sadhguru website.

The product description explains, "In spiritual traditions, the Guru's feet are regarded with great reverence. The Padam serves as a profound object of devotion and a powerful reminder of the Guru's Grace." The website features two reviews, both praising the photo frame.

One reviewer shared, "Holding the feet of the master in my heart is the sweetest thing that has happened to me, and having this photo helps me maintain that connection. The Sadhguru Padham Photo serves as a powerful reminder of the grace and energy that the Guru imparts. The wooden frame adds a beautiful touch, making it a cherished piece in my home." However, while some internet users celebrated the sale of Sadhguru's feet photos, others were critical.

One social media user commented, "I received this photo as a gift, and as soon as I saw it, tears of joy and gratitude started flowing! This is a very sacred blessing from our Guru." Another wrote, "Same people have no issue spending lakhs on a Coldplay concert ticket."

On the other hand, a dissenting voice remarked, "The comments section of this post shows why Babas thrive. Desperate and innocent people are gullible to fall into their trap. It's about the upbringing at home that builds a strong psyche."

The controversy deepened when the Madras High Court requested a report from the Tamil Nadu government detailing criminal cases against the Isha Foundation. This followed a habeas corpus petition filed by retired professor S Kamaraj, who claimed his two daughters were "brainwashed" into staying at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore and denied contact with their families. The Isha Foundation, however, denied promoting monkhood or discouraging marriage, stating these were personal choices. Authorities have since launched an inquiry into the foundation's practices.
