Is your WhatsApp down? Check what may have happened

Was your WhatsApp down. The Facebook owned messaging service was facing an outage. It is however unclear which areas were affected.

The downtectector.com website that tracks websites that are facing downtime was showing WhatsApp as facing technical issues. According to the website, the outage appears in to be focaused western Europe and Asia. However, several users on Facebook and Twitter from countries including US and some African nations too have claimed that the messaging service is down for them.

WhatsApp users are not able to both send as well as recieve messages.
