The government has dismissed claims circulating on social media that a scanned copy of the Union Budget 2026-27 has been leaked on Telegram. Officials have clarified that the message being shared is false and misleading.

The clarification was issued by the fact-check unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), which said there is no leak of the upcoming Union Budget and that the images being circulated are fake.

PIB Fact Check Exposes Fake Images

According to PIB, one of the images shared online is not related to the Union Budget 2026-27. It is actually taken from the Union Budget 2025-26, and the year on the front page has been digitally altered to mislead people.

The second image being circulated has also been found to be completely fabricated. PIB stated that it is a digitally created image and does not match any official Union Budget document in format or content.

Government Urges Public to Avoid Misinformation

The government has advised citizens to rely only on verified and official sources for information related to the Union Budget. It has warned that spreading unverified images or claims can confuse the public and create unnecessary panic.

Officials have once again reminded people to be cautious on social media and avoid forwarding messages without checking their authenticity, especially on sensitive national matters such as the Union Budget.
