Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Sunday slammed Governor RN Ravi for his recent comments on the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu and asked whether the state's situation is like Manipur.

Is Tamil Nadu burning like Manipur? MK Stalin slams Governor Ravi

"Governor Ravi is saying that the law and order situation is worse here and Tamil Nadu is not a peaceful place. I'm asking you, Mr RN Ravi, BJP ruling state Manipur is burning. Is Tamil Nadu burning like Manipur? Look at the riots that happened in Karnataka recently, the state is ruled by BJP isn't it? Did this happen in Tamil Nadu?," ANI quoted MK Stalin in a tweet.

A few days ago, violent clashes broke out in Manipur between the Meitei and Kuki communities. At least 52 people have been killed in the clashes.

The Tamil Nadu CM then criticised the Governor's recent comments that the Dravidian model of governance is only a "political slogan" and an "expired ideology."

"Dravidian ideology is not an expired ideology rather it gave expiration to Sanatana Dharma, Varnasiramam, Manuneedhi, and caste discrimination...I am saying this with great confidence that only Dravidam has the power to defeat the Aryan ideology," Stalin added. Responding to the allegations of DMK workers misbehaving with women police officers, he said that the DMK government took immediate action against the accused and expelled from the party.

"We did not try to save him as he is a member of DMK. The Governor says that some people in Tamil Nadu have links with Pakistan, arms and drug dealers. We did not get any such information after DMK came to power. They might have received such information before 2021 but it has nothing to do with DMK. Then why is the governor quoting old incidents and trying to demean DMK's rule?" he added.

Days ago, Stalin, without naming the Governor, said those who, by virtue of their power and arrogance, differentiate between people on the basis of caste and religion cannot understand the Dravidian model.

"The learned people of Tamil Nadu, who voted the DMK to power with the confidence of a new dawn, fully understand what the Draividian model is all about. There is no need to be concerned about those who hold positions that are not related to the people. It is suffice to do our duty and I am working with this goal," he said.
