Is Instagram Down? Netizens Raise Login Failure Issues

Instagram is apparently hit by technical glitches as many netizens are complaining on social media that they are facing issues with the app.

According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks online service disruptions, over 700 complaints were logged around 10:37 AM. This marks the second significant disruption in less than a week, following similar issues on November 13.

The latest outage seems to be hitting India particularly hard, with most complaints originating from the region. Downdetector's data reveals that 42% of users reported login issues, 39% faced server connection problems, and 19% encountered general app difficulties. Globally, users from various countries also reported problems, many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their grievances about the widespread outage.

This is the second major Instagram outage within seven days. The earlier disruption, on November 13, peaked at 9:51 PM, with over 130 reports from India alone. The frequent interruptions have left users frustrated, as millions globally have been unable to access their accounts during these periods.

As usual, users flooded X with memes, jokes, and commentary about the outage. One user humorously tweeted, "Welp-I'm gonna take this as a sign to go to bed now and get off my phone for the night. I really hope this gets fixed soon! #InstagramDown."
