Is Facebook Down Today? Meta Users Unable To Send Messages Or See Stories

Downtime is currently being experienced by Facebook Messenger and Instagram in India.

As of 10:45 am EDT, over 1,000 reports of the apps not functioning properly have been received by Downdetector. Earlier, the US also experienced the server-down issue.

Is Facebook Down Today?

Many users are encountering difficulties with sending and receiving messages. Issues with viewing Stories and conducting searches on both apps have been reported by some users as well

Several users also reported the issues with Facebook and Instagram on social media platforms like Twitter.
"Is anyone else experiencing trouble with Facebook and Instagram right now, or is it just me?" one person inquired.

Expressing frustration, another user stated, "Is anyone else getting randomly logged out of Facebook since it went down? @facebook #Facebook is driving me crazy." Informing others, a third user cautioned, "Hey, heads up everyone, Facebook is down again."

Another user inquired, "Are others having issues with Facebook? I can't view stories or search for anything." Likewise, a different user commented, "Is Facebook experiencing another outage? I posted stories, but they're not appearing on the app or Messenger."

Expressing frustration, another user pleaded, "Can someone inform me when @facebook is operational again, please? I have tasks to attend to now. Ugh! #facebookdown, thanks!!" At present, Meta has not addressed the reports of the outage.

The chart provides an overview of problem reports submitted in the last 24 hours compared to the usual volume of reports based on the time of day. Certain issues may be reported consistently throughout the day. On Facebook, the issue on the app has been reported by 61%, the problem in the feed has been reported by 22%, while logging in 17% have reported the problem. In Instagram, the issue on the app has been reported by 82%, the login has been reported by 11%, and the website has been reported by 8%.
