However, the senior editor is yet to make any comment in this regard.

The rumours are supported by the fact that both Goswami's father and uncle are members of the BJP in Assam.

Goswami originally hails from Guwahati, Assam.

If he joins politics, he is likely to shift his base to Delhi from Mumbai (Goswami's current address), say reports.

There is a lot of speculation regarding Goswami's next career move.

Since reports say he shares a close-relationship with the ruling BJP at the Centre, the popular anchor is likely to join the party.

Recently, Goswami was given a Y Category security after Intelligence Bureau (IB) reported threats to his life.

Many reports also suggest that he might come up with his own television news channel.
