IRCTC: Indian Railways Online Ticket Booking System Is Now Updated; Know How To Book Online Train Tickets

IRCTC: According to the reports, the Indian Railways system has updated its ticket booking system. The commuters who book train tickets online now have to follow the new rules set up by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to book train tickets online. Notably, Indian Railways is world's one of the biggest rail network worldwide.

According to the reports, passengers who book railway ticket online, now have to register themselves first throught the IRCTC website or mobile application. The new set of rules, individuals willing to book rail tickets online required to verify their account before booking train tickets.

India Railways has more than 70 million users but out of 70 million only 30 million are registered (3 crore) users, as per the data shared by IRCTC. Rest 40 million users are unregistered ursers, who now need to register and verify their accounts, only after passengers will be able to book online train tickets throught IRCTC's application.

According to the rules issued by IRCTC, it is mandatory for users to verify their mobile number and e-mail ID before booking online tickets.

To verify your mobile and email on the IRCTC app or website, follow these steps:

• Navigate to the verification window on the IRCTC app or website.
• Enter your registered mobile number and email ID.
• Click on the Verify button after providing the required information.
• You will receive an OTP on your mobile; enter it to verify your mobile number.
• Enter the code received on your email ID to complete the verification of your email.
• Once this process is completed, you will be able to make online train ticket bookings.

• Visit IRCTC at irctc.co.in/mobile or use the IRCTC app.
• Log in or create a new account.
• Under 'Train Ticketing,' click 'Plan My Bookings.'
• Select journey details and click 'Search Trains.'
• Choose a train and click 'Passenger Details' to add traveler info.
• Review journey details for accuracy.
• Click 'Proceed to Pay' and make the payment using various options.
