IRCTC Down? Railway E-Ticket Website Faces Temporary Outage, X Users Report Issues
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website experienced a technical issue on Friday, leading to its temporary shutdown. Despite the inconvenience caused to passengers, IRCTC did not disclose the exact reason behind the glitch.
Popular website that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services Down Detector says that the IRCTC website is indeed down since 10.37 am to 11.22 pm. The website has received reports from nearly 500 users so far that they have been facing issues with the IRCTC website, app and ticketing.

The sudden outage left several passengers frustrated, especially those who were in the midst of booking or planning their travel. Many took to social media to express their anger and disappointment over the situation.
The IRCTC website is a crucial platform for millions of passengers across India, providing online booking services for train tickets, among other facilities. The technical fault disrupted these services, inconveniencing a large number of users.
Efforts are reportedly underway to resolve the issue and restore normalcy to the IRCTC website. Passengers are advised to stay updated through official channels for any further updates regarding the technical glitch.
How to Book a Train Ticket:
- Log in to your IRCTC account using your user ID and password.
- Enter your origin and destination stations, as well as your preferred class for travel.
- If you don't have a fixed travel date, select the "Flexible with Date" option.
- The next page will display a list of trains available on your selected route.
- Choose the type of class available on the train you prefer.
- Click on the "Check availability and fare" tab to see the availability and fare.
- Once you've selected a train, click on "Book now."
- Verify the train name, station names, class, and date of journey displayed on the left side of the page.
