Iranian Citizen Kamran Arrested While Attempting Illegal Border Crossing into Nepal

An Iranian national was apprehended by a combined team of local police and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) while attempting to cross into Nepal illegally. The individual, identified as Kamran from Tehran, was stopped at the border, officials reported. During the search, authorities found multiple passports, fake identity documents, SIM cards, and cash in his possession.

Iranian Citizen Arrested at Nepal Border

Circle Officer Sadar Arun Kant Singh explained that the operation took place in the Kakarhawa area near the Indian border. Kamran was intercepted while trying to enter Nepal. Singh noted that Kamran had been hiding in Delhi for two years before attempting to return to Iran via the Siddharthnagar district border.

Illegal Crossing Attempt

Kamran's belongings included four passports from different countries, two counterfeit Aadhaar cards, two other identity certificates, and five SIM cards from various companies. Additionally, Rs 13,000 was found with him. These items were seized during the search conducted by police and SSB personnel.

The authorities have charged Kamran with illegal activities related to his attempted border crossing. Following his arrest, he has been sent to jail pending further legal proceedings. The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to monitor and secure border areas against unlawful crossings.

Singh mentioned that Kamran's plan involved using the Kakarhawa border as a route back to Iran. However, vigilant patrolling by police and SSB thwarted his attempt. The operation underscores the importance of maintaining strict surveillance along international borders to prevent illegal movements.

The incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by security forces in managing border security. It also emphasizes the need for continued cooperation between local police and paramilitary forces like the SSB in safeguarding national boundaries.
