IPS row: Avoid mud-slinging in public, says Chennithala
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 4: Taking exception to the open row between two senior IPS officers in the state, Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Feb 3 said he would hold talks with them to resolve the issue.
"I do not agree with the mud-slinging in open by Additional Director General of Police R Sreelekha and Transport Commissioner Tomin J Thachankary," Chennithala told reporters here.
Refuting allegations that there was indiscipline in police force, he said "the dispute between the two officers was personal. I am planning to talk to them to sort out the matter," he added.
To a query on receipt of a petition from Thachankary seeking permission to prosecute Sreelekha, Chennithala denied having received any such petition.
"I will examine it and take suitable decision when I get it," he added.
Sreelekha's facebook posting which said that she was harassed by Thachankary, also her batch mate, for nearly three decades, had kicked up a controversy. However, Thachankary had denied the allegations.
