Inter-State Gang of Thieves Busted in Navi Mumbai, Laptops and Valuables Recovered
The Navi Mumbai police have successfully apprehended three members of an inter-state gang of thieves, two of whom hail from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The gang was actively involved in stealing laptops and valuables from cars across Maharashtra.

Thane, January 16: In a significant breakthrough, the Navi Mumbai police have successfully apprehended three individuals involved in an inter-state gang of thieves. The gang specialized in laptop thefts and stealing valuables from cars, operating across multiple states.
Modus Operandi and Arrests
The police revealed that the trio, comprising Senithil Durairajan Kumar (48) and Murthy Ramasamy Chinnappan (30) from Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, and Shiva Viswanathan (47) from Puducherry, had been actively moving within Maharashtra, targeting laptops and valuables from parked vehicles.
The arrests were made following a recent incident in Vashi, where a parked car's window was smashed, and two laptops were stolen. A dedicated probe team diligently pursued various leads and managed to trace the location of the stolen laptops to CSMT station in South Mumbai.
With the assistance of the Government Railway Police (GRP), the team swiftly apprehended the three accused at CSMT station.
Recovery of Stolen Laptops
During a thorough search, the police successfully recovered a substantial number of laptops from the possession of the accused, including those stolen from Vashi.
Interrogation and Wider Network
Upon interrogation, the accused confessed to their criminal activities within Maharashtra for the past 20 days. They admitted to stealing laptops from various locations in Mumbai, as well as in Pune and Nashik.
Furthermore, the investigation revealed that the trio had committed similar offenses in other states, indicating a broader network of criminal operations.
The arrest of this inter-state gang of thieves is a significant achievement for the Navi Mumbai police. Their swift action and meticulous investigation have disrupted the criminal activities of this group and brought relief to the affected communities. Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of their operations and bring all involved individuals to justice.
