Inflammable Substance Found in Nikki Bhati’s Room, Police Probe Intensifies

The investigation into Nikki Bhati's suspected dowry death has taken a new direction. Her husband, Vipin Bhati, is the main suspect. Police have found an inflammable substance in her room and new video clips have emerged. These developments have prompted a review of the events on August 21, according to a senior officer.

Authorities are scrutinising several videos and CCTV footage related to the incident. One clip shows Nikki's mother-in-law trying to separate her from Vipin during a fight. Another video, reportedly filmed by Nikki's sister Kanchan, captures someone saying, "Yeh kya kar liya" (what have you done). The police are also examining CCTV footage showing Vipin outside his home shortly before the incident.

Inflammable Substance Discovery

An officer involved in the case revealed that an inflammable solution was found in Nikki's room. This discovery has been sent for forensic analysis. This finding may alter earlier claims that Nikki was set on fire with a flammable liquid by Vipin and his family.

Kanchan's statement is under re-evaluation by the police. She reportedly recorded a video of the alleged incident and filed an FIR. Kanchan, married to Nikki's brother-in-law Rohit Bhati, claimed she tried to intervene. She accused Vipin and his family of setting Nikki ablaze after beating her.

Instagram Reels as a Source of Conflict

Neighbours reported that Vipin often objected to Nikki's Instagram makeover reels. These videos were said to be a frequent source of tension between them. Both sisters were active on Instagram, which their husbands disapproved of, leading to disputes.

In 2024, despite being married, Vipin was allegedly caught with another woman. This led to legal trouble when he reportedly assaulted her in an attempt to prove his innocence. The woman later filed an FIR against him at Jarcha Police Station in Greater Noida.

Legal Proceedings and Arrests

The Bhatis were charged at Kasna police station on August 22 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These include charges for murder and attempting offences punishable with life imprisonment. Vipin, Rohit, Satyavir (Nikki's father-in-law), and Daya (her mother-in-law) have been arrested for the alleged dowry murder.

Nikki faced ongoing dowry harassment despite their marriage being solemnised without dowry in 2016. Her family had already given a Scorpio SUV, motorcycle, and jewellery but were pressured for ₹36 lakh more and a luxury car.

The investigation continues as authorities piece together evidence from multiple sources. The timeline of events is being meticulously reviewed to ensure justice for Nikki Bhati.
