Indrani Mukerjea admitted to hospital after popping 'anti-depression' pills; condition serious

Mumbai, Oct 2: Former NewsX CEO Indrani Mukerjea, who is in police custody in connection with Sheena Bora murder case, was on Friday admitted to the hospital here after she consumed some pills.

"Indrani Mukherjea was brought here at 2 pm. She is unconscious since the time she was brought here," said TP Lahane, dean JJ Hospital.

The doctors are claiming that her condition is serious and will be kept under observation for next 24 hours.

Lahane further added, "We think that she (Indrani Mukherjea) has consumed some tablets, we are treating her on that basis. She (Indrani) is unconscious since the time she was brought. Her condition is serious. Will take 24 hours to assess and then will see what is her response."

Sheena Bora murder case accused Indrani Mukerjea's mother Durga Rani Bora passed away due to old age-related ailments on Thursday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dispur) Suprotive Lal Barua said 83-year Bora died in her residence.

Bora, who was bed-ridden for long, and her husband were taken care of by their grandson Mikhail Bora at their residence in Sundarpur area of the city.

Indrani is the prime accused in the murder of her daughter Sheena and the case is being investigated by the CBI at present.
