Police drone unit launched in Indore to support law and order and crowd management

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched Indore’s first district police drone unit, deploying 18 advanced drones operated by trained personnel. The drones will support law and order, surveillance, routine patrolling, and crowd management, with plans for AI integration. He also announced three new police stations and launched the Traffic Saathi app for traffic management.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday launched the state’s first district drone unit in Indore. The new unit is set to support law and order work. Mohan Yadav said the aerial systems would act as the police force’s third eye. The drones are expected to help with surveillance, crowd control, and patrolling.

Mohan Yadav said the launch marked a new step by the Indore Police. The unit has 18 advanced drones, as per the chief minister. Trained police personnel have been assigned to operate the systems. Mohan Yadav said the drones would assist officers during routine duties and large gatherings across the city.

Mohan Yadav said the drones would play a major role as the police force’s third eye. Mohan Yadav linked the plan to crowd management needs. The chief minister said drones would also support surveillance work. Mohan Yadav added that the technology would help police during regular patrolling in different areas.

Alongside the Indore launch, Mohan Yadav announced more policing measures for the city. Mohan Yadav said three new police stations would be set up in Indore. Mohan Yadav also said police deployment in the city would be increased as required. The steps are aimed at improving response and coverage.

Indore Police drone unit and AI integration

Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh said the drones would be integrated with artificial intelligence (AI). Santosh Kumar Singh said the system would be used to identify listed criminals in crowds. The commissioner said the technology would add support during events where large groups gather and monitoring becomes harder.

Santosh Kumar Singh said the same drone technology would also be used during emergencies. Santosh Kumar Singh said the drones would be deployed during natural disasters such as floods. Santosh Kumar Singh also said they would be used in fire emergencies. The aim is to improve situational awareness for faster action.

Indore Police drone unit and Traffic Saathi mobile application

Mohan Yadav also launched the Traffic Saathi mobile application for the city. The app has been developed for traffic management in Indore. The announcement came with other steps tied to public safety. Officials indicated the tools are meant to improve monitoring and support smoother movement on roads.

Referring to wider use of drone technology, Mohan Yadav said drones are used in many sectors. Mohan Yadav also referred to defence use of such systems. Mohan Yadav said drones are also used by the armed forces during Operation Sindoor. The comments linked the Indore unit to broader trends.

With the district drone unit now launched in Indore, police are set to use the 18 drones for daily support. Trained personnel will operate the systems as planned. Officials said AI use and emergency deployment would be part of the approach. The state government also outlined new police stations and added deployment.
