In a viral video, it is shown that Indigo staff members dressed as Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman were involved in flagging off the airline's inaugural flight between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya.

Indigo staff members, dressed as Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman, arrived to curious glances and a smattering of applause from gathered passengers at Ahmedabad airport on January 11. In the video, the boarding announcement is made by one Indigo employee, dressed as Lord Ram.

In the video one can see, another employee, who was also in costume, was kneeling in front of him with his head bowed and hands folded. Lakshman and Sita, also dressed as Indigo staffers, stand at the gate to greet passengers.A significant influx of visitors is anticipated in the temple town of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22.

The first phase of the Ram Temple's construction is nearing completion, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in the consecration ceremony. The inauguration of flights between Ayodhya and Delhi by IndiGo, starting from January 11, and the operation of flights between Ayodhya and Ahmedabad thrice a week have been facilitated.

The flight from Ayodhya to Ahmedabad was virtually flagged off by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia from the national capital on January 11. The Union minister has stated that the Ayodhya airport will undergo expansion, including an extension of the runway to accommodate larger aircraft and facilitate international flights. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that approximately 100 chartered flights are expected at the Ayodhya airport for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22.
