IndiGo Flight To Abu Dhabi, Makes Emergency Landing at Kochi Airport After Mid-Air Technical Snag

An Abu Dhabi-bound IndiGo flight (6E-1403) was forced to return to Kochi early on Saturday after developing a technical snag while airborne for over two hours, sources told PTI.

The Airbus A320neo, carrying more than 180 passengers and six crew members, departed Kochi at 11:10 pm on Friday but had to turn back, landing at 1:44 am on Saturday. Passengers were later accommodated on another aircraft, which departed for Abu Dhabi around 3:30 am with a fresh set of crew members, as the earlier team had crossed duty time limits.

IndiGo has not issued an official statement yet, but sources said the airline ensured that passengers faced minimal disruption and reached their destination safely.

Recent Incident in Nagpur

Earlier this week, another IndiGo flight (6E-812) from Nagpur to Kolkata had to return to Nagpur airport shortly after take-off following a bird strike. The plane, carrying around 160-165 passengers, landed safely.

In a statement, IndiGo confirmed the incident, adding that the aircraft was grounded for inspection and maintenance. Passengers were offered refreshments, alternate arrangements, or full refunds to minimise inconvenience.
