India's Got Latent Star Samay Raina To Record Statement After March 10 In Ranveer Alhabadia Controversy Case

The Mumbai Police have extended the deadline for comedian Samay Raina to appear before them until March 10. This extension was granted following a request from Raina's lawyer, who stated that Raina is currently in the United States. The investigation pertains to controversial remarks made by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia on Raina's now-deleted YouTube show, 'India's Got Latent'.

Ranveer Allahbadia, known for his 'BeerBiceps' channel on YouTube, sparked controversy with comments about parents and sex on the show. As a result, two FIRs have been filed against both Allahbadia and Raina-one in Assam and another in Mumbai. Despite efforts by Mumbai and Assam Police to contact Allahbadia, they have been unsuccessful as his phone remains switched off.

Controversy Surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia

Allahbadia had requested that his statement be recorded at his residence, but this was denied by the Khar police. Meanwhile, the police have already recorded statements from eight individuals, including Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchalani, based on a complaint from a BJP functionary. However, no FIR has been registered by the city police regarding this matter.

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has summoned around 50 people to provide statements related to the case. These individuals include participants of the show. Actor Raghu Ram, who was part of the judges panel on Raina's show, recorded his statement with the agency recently.

Samay Raina's Response

In response to the controversy, Samay Raina has removed all episodes of 'India's Got Latent' from his YouTube channel. The show had previously garnered millions of views. Through social media, Raina expressed that recent events have been overwhelming but assured full cooperation with investigative agencies.

"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you," Samay wrote.

On February 10, Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology acknowledging his "lack of judgement" during the show. The incident has drawn significant attention and led to various reactions across social media platforms.
