• The overall cost of the Kochi water metro project was set up at a cost of Rs 1,136.83 crore.
• The cost-effective and secure journey in air-conditioned boats would help people to reach their respective destinations without being stuck in traffic snarls, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a Facebook post.
• Vijayan termed the Kochi Water Metro as a 'dream project' of the state that would accelerate the growth and development of Kochi.
• "The world-class #KochiWaterMetro is setting sail! It is Kerala's dream project connecting 10 islands in and around Kochi. KWM with 78 electric boats & 38 terminals cost 1,136.83 crores, funded by GoK & KfW," Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tweeted.

• Routes: The metro services would begin soon from High Court-Vypin terminals to Vyttila-Kakkanad terminals.
• The Kerala Chief Minister also stated that passengers will be able to travel in both Kochi metro and water metro using the 'Kochi One' card.
• Tickets details: The ticket price starts from Rs 20, and the maximum ticket price is Rs 40.
• The Kochi One App also allows users to digitally book tickets.
• Kochi water metro will run on batteries made of lithium titanite spinel.
