India's 78th Independence Day: 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Caller Tune Makes A Comeback

As India gears up to celebrate its 78th Independence Day on August 15, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' caller tune has made a return. This iconic tune plays whenever a call is made, encouraging citizens to proudly hoist the Tricolour at their homes. Similar initiatives have been conducted in recent years.

Launched under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav banner in 2022, the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign invites people to bring the national flag home and display it with pride. The third edition of the campaign is taking place from August 9 to 15 this year, marking the 78th Independence Day.

In previous years, callers were greeted with a message urging them to share photographs with the Tricolour on the official Har Ghar Tiranga website.

"As we approach this year's Independence Day, let's once again make #HarGharTiranga a memorable mass movement. I've changed my profile picture and encourage everyone to join me in celebrating our Tricolour by doing the same. And don't forget to share your selfies on harghartiranga.com," Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted on social media platform X on August 9.

On Tuesday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar launched a 'Tiranga Bike Rally' from the Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. He highlighted that the campaign reflects India's commitment to 'Viksit Bharat' and declared that this is "India's century."

The bike rally began at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, and traveled to the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, passing through India Gate.

Participants in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign are encouraged to fly the national flag atop their homes and share a selfie with it on the official website harghartiranga.com.

To download the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' certificate, go to the "click to participate" tab on the website and enter the necessary details.

After providing the required information, participants are asked to take a pledge: "I swear to hoist the Tricolour, honor the spirit of our freedom fighters and brave sons, and dedicate myself to the development and progress of India."

Once the details are verified, click "generate certificate" to complete the process.

Beyond selfies and pledges, the campaign includes various events and activities such as Tiranga Yatras, rallies, marathons, concerts, tributes, melas, and more.
