Indian shooter Rajyavardhan Rathore joins BJP
Along with the ace shooter, Jaipur princess Diya Kumari also joined BJP, the two inducted into the party at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Jaipur.
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, who won silver medal in shooting event at 2004 Athens Olympics, will be projected as a youth icon and is expected to have considerable impact in consolidating Rajputs votes in Rajasthan which is going to polls in December.
Both Rathore and Diya may be offered tickets in Assembly polls or 2014 LS polls.
Diya Kumari, daughter of last maharaja of Jaipur, Bhawani Singh, also has an influence over Rajputs around Jaipur.
Earlier in 1999, Bhawani Singh himself contested the Lok Sabha elections from Jaipur under Congress ticket and lost to BJP leader Giridhari Lal Bhargava.
According to the source, both Rathore and Diya may be offered tickets in the Assembly election or 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
