Indian Railways Holi Special Trains 2026: Full List of 186 Trains, Routes, and Timings

The "Festival of Colors" is just around the corner, and to ensure your celebrations aren't dampened by a lack of travel options, Indian Railways has launched a massive transport initiative. To tackle the intense seasonal rush, Central Railway (CR) has officially announced the operation of 186 special Holi trains for 2026.

This extensive network is designed to bridge the gap between major industrial hubs like Mumbai and Pune and the heartlands of North and South India, ensuring that every traveler can make it home for the festivities without the usual ticket-booking hurdles.

With bookings having opened on February 18, 2026, passengers now have a wider range of travel options to navigate the seasonal rush. Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, confirmed that bookings for periods beyond the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) will continue to open as per subsequent dates, according to a report in NDTV.

Special Festive Trains: Key Routes and Services

To accommodate the millions heading home, Central Railway is operating a mix of daily, weekly, and bi-weekly services. These corridors typically witness extreme demand, making these 186 services-comprising 94 Holi Specials and 92 Special Trips-crucial for long-distance travel.

Major routes include:

Mumbai - Nagpur: Bi-weekly specials (Train 02141/02142) running from Feb 22 to March 8.

Mumbai - Gorakhpur: Daily services (Train 01079/01080) starting Feb 21.

Pune - Danapur: Daily specials (Train 01449/01450) and bi-weekly options to handle the heavy North India rush.

LTT - Banaras: Bi-weekly services (Train 01073/01074) connecting Mumbai to the spiritual heart of UP.

Mumbai - Sawantwadi Road: Weekly specials specifically catering to the Konkan region for the Holi-Shimga festivities.

These special trains are designed to cover essential junctions to ensure maximum convenience for regional travelers. Key stops across the network include:

Maharashtra: Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Manmad, Pune, Nagpur, and Panvel.

North India: Itarsi, Jabalpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn (DDU), Varanasi, and Lucknow.

Konkan Belt: Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, and Kudal.
