Indian Bus With 40 Passengers Falls Into River In Nepal; 14 Dead
At least 14 people have died after an Indian passenger bus with 40 people onboard plunged into the Marsyangdi river in Tanahun district on Friday, confirmed Nepal Police.
"The bus bearing number plate UP FT 7623 plunged into the river and is lying on the bank of the river," DSP Deepkumar Raya from the District Police Office Tanahun confirmed.

At least, 29 people have been rescued and being treated at a hospital.
As per the official, the bus was en route to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Uttar Pradesh Relief Commissioner stated, "We are reaching out to determine if any passengers from Uttar Pradesh were on the bus involved in the Nepal incident."

The Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Maharajganj is being dispatched to Nepal, and the Additional District Magistrate of Maharajganj will handle coordination efforts, according to the Relief Commissioner.

It may be recalled that 65 passengers aboard two buses were swept into the swollen Trishuli River in Nepal in July. The tragic incident involved the Kathmandu-bound Angel bus and the Ganpati Deluxe, which was travelling from Kathmandu to Gaur in Rautahat.
