Indian Army launches dedicated recruitment website

New Delhi, June 18: The Indian Army on Thursday launched a new website dedicated to recruitments.

The new website (http://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in/), which went live from South Block, is being aimed at the selection of Officers, Junior Commission Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (OR).

The new website was launched by Lt Gen Philip Campose, Vice Chief of Army Staff.

Indian Army says that the dynamic website is keeping in pace with the automation of recruitment in the Army.

"It will synergise and enhance the selection procedures. Candidates from all across India will have access to information about career options in the Army, make suitable choices and apply online," says an Army spokesperson.

The facilities of the website for applying as Officers, JCOs and OR will be available with effect from July 1, 2015.

This is in addition to Indian Army's popular official website http://indianarmy.nic.in/.

Accident during Exercise Ajeya Warrior

In a non-related development, two soldiers of the Indian Army sustained leg fractures and few other soldier suffered minor injuries during the Indo-UK exercise.

The accident involving troop carrier vehicles of British forces occurred while returning after conduct of a joint training at Salisbury Plains, Near Westdown Camp in United Kingdom on June 17.

The joint training mission -- Exercise Ajeya Warrior -- is held biannually in both the countries, alternatively.
