India Writing 'Unique Success Story', Its Economy Grew By 90% In 10 years: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ET World Leaders Forum on Saturday, where he emphasised India's robust economic growth and the impact of the government's reforms.

He pointed out that India is writing a "unique success story," with the country's economic performance standing as a testament to this achievement.

"The global economy has grown by 35% in the last 10 years, and our economy has grown by almost 90% in the last 10 years. This is sustainable growth that we have achieved. This sustainable growth will continue in the future as well. Reform, perform and transform has been our mantra. People are seeing the achievements of the country and are full of confidence," PM Modi stated.

India's Electoral Mandate and Political Stability

Reflecting on the 2024 Lok Sabha election results, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the voters' decision, marking a third consecutive term for his government-a "hat-trick" not seen in the country for 60 years.

He contrasted this with global electoral trends, where many countries have seen calls for change.

"Look at the situations in other countries of the world. This year, voting has taken place in many big countries of the world, elections have been held, and in most places, people have voted for change," Modi said, according to ANI.

He continued, "Governments have faced difficulties in many countries. But the citizens of India have given this trend a completely opposite mandate. The voters of India have ensured a hat-trick for a government after 60 years. The aspirational youth of India and the women of India have voted for continuity, political stability, and economic growth."

A Call to Industry Leaders for Innovation and Global Leadership

In his message to industry leaders, PM Modi urged them to position India as a global leader across various sectors. He emphasised the government's commitment to facilitating growth and called on businesses to focus on innovation and quality.

"We promise that we will facilitate, you promise that you will innovate. We promise that we will reform, you promise that you will perform. We promise that we will focus on high growth, you promise that you will focus on high quality... Today's India respects wealth creators," PM Modi said.

He further articulated India's potential to influence global prosperity, stating, "A strong India can bring great growth to the entire humanity. A prosperous India can pave the way for the prosperity of the entire world. We have to remember the mantras of innovation, inclusion, and international cooperation."
