India Will Trace, Identify & Punish Terrorists Involved In Pahalgam Attack: PM Modi In Bihar

India will trace every terrorist and the backers involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and punish them, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday.

Terrorists Will Not Be Spared: PM Modi

In his first public event since the attack that killed at least 26 civilians, PM Modi said that justice will be given to the victims. He said that the terrorists will not be spared and will get a punishment bigger than they can imagine.

Speaking at an event in Madhubani after launching developmental projects, PM Modi said: "Today, on the soil of Bihar, I say to the whole world, India will identify, trace and punish every terrorist and their backers. We will pursue them to the ends of the Earth. India's spirit will never be broken by terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished. Every effort will be made to make sure that justice is done.

The entire nation is one in this resolve. Everyone who believes in humanity is with us. I thank the people of various countries and their leaders who have stood with us...The punishment will be significant and stringent, which these terrorists would have never even thought about..."

PM Modi observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the victims killed in the worst terrorist attacks in the last five years. He also chanted Om Shanti.

He continued, "The entire nation is saddened by the brutality with which terrorists killed innocent civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22nd April...I want to say in very clear words that these terrorists and those who conspired towards this attack will get a punishment bigger than they can imagine. The willpower of 140 crore Indians will now break the back of the masters of terror..."

PM Modi further added, "Ab aatankiyon ki bachhi-kuchhi zameen ko bhi mitti mein milane ka samay aa gaya hai..."

In the incident, 26 people from several parts of the country and a few foreign nationals were killed around 3 pm on Tuesday. The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the banned Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), claimed responsibility for the attack.

Meanwhile, in the crucial Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting on Wednesday, the Centre has taken five key decisions, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and withdrawing its own Defence, Navy, and Air advisors from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
