India Warns Pakistan With Operation Sindoor: ‘Paap Ka Ghada Bhar Chuka’

In a significant development, senior commanders from all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces addressed a joint press conference for the second consecutive day at the National Media Centre on Monday. They shared the outcomes of "Operation Sindoor," which was launched in response to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that killed 26 innocent civilians.

The press briefing featured Air Marshal A K Bharti (Director General Air Operations), Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai (Director General Military Operations), and Vice Admiral A N Pramod (Director General Naval Operations), who provided insights into the operation and India's strategic posture.

Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, DG Military Operations, discussed the evolving nature of terrorism in recent years, highlighting a disturbing trend in which civilians have been the primary targets. Referring to the Pahalgam massacre as a watershed moment, he said, "Pahalgam tak paap ka ye ghada bhar chuka tha" - implying that the extent of terrorist atrocities had reached a stage where India's powerful and uncompromising response was unavoidable.

Air Marshal A K Bharti, DG Air Operations, accused Pakistan's military of knowingly cooperating with terrorists, prompting India's robust response. He emphasised that, while India's goal remained to combat terrorism and its support networks, Pakistan's military intervention exacerbated the issue.

Air Marshal Bharti further stated that India's air defence systems effectively foiled any attempts by Pakistan to penetrate Indian airspace. "They made the attempt, but our air defences held firm," he said, emphasising India's aerial security system' preparation and power.

Throughout the briefing, the Indian Armed Forces reaffirmed that their attacks were only directed against terrorist entities and the infrastructure that supports them, not the Pakistani military. However, because Pakistan's military chose to become involved, India was forced to reply in kind.
