India Successfully Test-Fires Agni-5 Ballistic Missile from Odisha’s Chandipur

India on Wednesday successfully carried out the test-firing of its intermediate-range ballistic missile Agni-5 from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur, Odisha. The launch, conducted under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command (SFC), validated all operational and technical parameters, officials confirmed.

The successful trial marks a significant boost to India's strategic defence capabilities. The Agni-5, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is the most advanced missile in the Agni series, which forms the core of the nation's land-based nuclear deterrence.

Designed as a nuclear-capable surface-to-surface missile, Agni-5 enhances India's long-range strike capabilities and reaffirms the credibility of its strategic arsenal. Officials highlighted that the launch not only demonstrated the robustness of the system but also reaffirmed its readiness for deployment.
