India Restarts E-Visa Facilities For Canadians Amid Diplomatic Strife
After a hiatus of two months amidst strained diplomatic relations, India has decided to resume its electronic visa (e-visa) services for Canadian citizens. On September 21, visa services faced suspension amidst an ongoing diplomatic dispute sparked by Canada's allegations. They claimed that individuals affiliated with the Indian government had a role in the June demise of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, identified as a Khalistani terrorist and a Canadian citizen.
India vehemently rebutted these accusations, labeling them as "absurd" and "motivated." The government consistently denied any involvement in Nijjar's passing, emphasizing the necessity for Ottawa to provide concrete evidence substantiating their claims.
