India Rebukes Pakistan's Democracy Lecture, Urges to Halt Terror Factories
New Delhi, Mar 24 - In a recent assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Geneva, Switzerland, India delivered a strong rebuttal to Pakistan's allegations, particularly concerning the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman, Harivansh, representing India, utilized his right of reply to address the accusations made by Pakistan during the 148th Assembly of the IPU.

Harivansh emphasized India's status as the largest democracy in the world, a model that many countries aspire to emulate. He critiqued Pakistan's track record on democracy, describing any lectures from such a country on democratic values as "laughable." The Deputy Chairman underscored the absurdity of Pakistan undermining the IPU platform with false narratives and baseless allegations.
Addressing Pakistan's claims on Jammu and Kashmir directly, Harivansh reaffirmed that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh are integral parts of India. He highlighted the futility of rhetoric and propaganda in changing this undeniable fact. Furthermore, he advised Pakistan to cease its operations of terror factories that have been responsible for numerous cross-border terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Deputy Chairman also pointed out Pakistan's history of supporting terrorism, reminding the audience that Osama Bin Laden was found within its borders. He noted that Pakistan has been home to one of the largest numbers of terrorists proscribed by the UN Security Council. Harivansh expressed hope that Islamabad would learn from these criticisms for the betterment of its own people.
Leading the Indian delegation to the IPU, Harivansh's statements at the assembly reflect India's stance on its bilateral relations with Pakistan, especially concerning the contentious issue of Jammu and Kashmir. His remarks aimed at drawing attention to Pakistan's alleged support for terrorism while defending India's democratic credentials and sovereignty over its territories.
