India Asserts Arunachal Pradesh's Status Against China's Repeated Claims

New Delhi, Mar 28 - India has firmly reiterated its stance on Arunachal Pradesh, emphasizing that the region remains an integral and inalienable part of the country, despite China's repeated claims. This statement was made by MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal during his weekly press briefing, in response to recent comments made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian. Jaiswal underscored that no matter how often China repeats its baseless claims, India's position remains unchanged. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) had previously addressed this issue on March 19, dismissing the Chinese Defence Ministry spokesperson's "absurd claims" over Arunachal Pradesh.

Furthermore, Jaiswal addressed inquiries regarding Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's recent remarks about the killing of a Khalistani separatist leader on Canadian soil. He noted that Trudeau's comments did not present any new information and reiterated India's willingness to investigate any specific and concrete information shared with it. However, he highlighted that India has yet to receive such information and cautioned against politicizing the issue and giving extremists more space.

The MEA spokesperson also commented on the United States' collaboration with the Indian government to hold accountable those involved in a plot to assassinate Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil. An Indian national, Nikhil Gupta, was charged in November last year for his involvement in this foiled plot. Pannun holds dual citizenship of the US and Canada.

In addition, Jaiswal responded to a query about the UN Security Council's resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for the month of Ramzan. He described the resolution as a positive development and reiterated India's call for de-escalation and preventing the spread of conflict. India has condemned terrorism, called for the release of hostages, protection of civilians, and emphasized the need for safe and timely delivery of humanitarian assistance to Palestine. Jaiswal also affirmed India's support for a two-state solution.

Regarding the visit of the Sri Lankan prime minister to Beijing, Jaiswal stated that India monitors all developments impacting its economic and security interests and takes necessary actions as required.

This series of statements from the MEA spokesperson highlights India's firm stance on its territorial integrity, its readiness to address international concerns constructively, and its commitment to peace and stability in regional conflicts.
