India Mourns the Loss of Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh: Tributes from Jharkhand Leaders

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his condolences on Thursday following the death of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He described Singh as one of the nation's great sons. "Today, the country lost one of its great sons. The news of the demise of former prime minister and world-renowned economist Manmohan Singh ji is extremely sad," Soren stated in a post on X.

Tributes Pour in for Manmohan Singh

Singh, aged 92, was taken to AIIMS Delhi's emergency department after suddenly losing consciousness. Despite all medical efforts, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 9:51 pm, according to a statement from the hospital.

Jharkhand BJP president Babulal Marandi also mourned Singh's passing. "I am saddened by the news of the demise of former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, a great economist and a man of simple, easy-going and gentle personality," Marandi posted on X. He highlighted Singh's unforgettable contributions to India's economic reforms.

Jharkhand Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh remarked that Singh's death is an irreparable loss for the nation. Kamlesh noted that this loss cannot be compensated, reflecting on Singh's significant impact on the country.

Legacy and Contributions

Soren praised Singh as a pioneer in developmental politics and governance. He noted that Singh dedicated his life selflessly to serving the nation and its people. "Today he is not among us, but his ideals and thoughts will always inspire us," Soren added.

The Chief Minister also prayed for peace for Singh's soul and strength for his family and fellow citizens during this difficult time. "May Marang Buru grant peace to the departed soul and give strength and courage to the bereaved family and the countrymen to bear this difficult moment of grief," Soren said.

Manmohan Singh's legacy as a world-renowned economist and leader in Indian politics will continue to inspire future generations. His contributions to economic reforms have left an indelible mark on the country's history.
