Arvind Kejriwal Criticizes BJP Rule In Goa, Highlights Corruption Over Development

Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Goa of favouring corruption over public welfare during its 13-year rule, arguing that key services such as schools, hospitals, and roads remained weak even as the state’s tourism image stayed strong.

Kejriwal said the coastal state’s global reputation contrasted sharply with daily realities faced by residents under BJP rule. "Goa is one of the most beautiful states in the world, but BJP's governance over the past 13 years has turned it into a center of corruption," Kejriwal said.

The Aam Aadmi Party national convener claimed that successive BJP administrations did not give sustained attention to basic development. Kejriwal alleged that the government’s approach had weakened trust among citizens, who expected steady improvements in core services rather than recurring controversies.

According to Kejriwal, vital sectors such as healthcare, education, and transport did not receive the required investment or maintenance. Many schools and hospitals, Kejriwal argued, remained under-resourced, while road networks and other civic facilities continued to face delays, damage, or poor upkeep across several parts of Goa.

Kejriwal linked this situation to what was described as systemic corruption within the state administration. "Instead of building schools, hospitals, and roads, the BJP has prioritized corruption, leaving people to struggle with essential services," he added, stating that residents bore the impact through disrupted access and higher daily hardships.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader pressed for stronger accountability mechanisms and quicker upgrades to infrastructure, saying that visible improvements could help repair public confidence in governance.
