India gears up for exchange of currency notes
Police has been guarding all the bank branches to avoid problems to the people.
On the night of 8th of November Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and informed about the decision of the government to scrape Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 currency notes with effect from midnight.

Today the banks are reopening to help people exchange their Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 currency notes. People had begun queuing up outside the banks to get their old currency notes exchanged.
